Indiana Basketball Source has updated its 2019 Indiana high school player rankings based on college projections. Like the 2018 overall rankings, a familiar face, Keion Brooks, remains the top player in the class since our first edition of ratings.

Keion Brooks Jr. of Fort Wayne North Side had a great sophomore year. He carried his play into the spring and produced for the Indy Heat on the Nike EYBL circuit against top-tier talent. His stellar production came against players that were a year older than him in most circumstances. Brooks is a very good offensive rebounder. He’s great as a finisher around the basket in transition and off drives as well. His pull-up game over defenders is really tough and advanced for his age.

Center Grove’s Trayce Jackson-Davis moves up to the second spot in the rankings. He has steadily improved to this point in his high school career. He continues to grow physically as well. Jackson-Davis has been really good as a rebounder and scorer at the basket this spring. His vertical athleticism continues to get better as he gets stronger as well. That only makes him tougher at the rim.

The third spot in 2019 goes to Castle’s Alex Hemenway. He has proven to be an elite shooter over the last year. He is filling that role well for Indiana Elite 2019. He’s also a good ball-handler and distributor that will create his own shot here and there. Hemenway might have a little bit more physical growth left which would help his game. As he gets stronger, his athleticism will make strides as well.

Zionsville’s Isaiah Thompson ranks fourth in the Indiana Basketball Source rankings. He has shot the ball really well this spring for the Indy Heat. He had a sophomore year shooting slump for Zionsville, so it is good to see that he has his shot back on track. Thompson picked up an offer from Miami of Ohio in late May. With a strong July, he will add to that list.
