Monday, 2021 guard Michael Eley announced that he will attend Elevation Prep during his senior year.
Until recently, Indiana was shielded from players leaving for the prep school route, especially as underclassmen. Those days appear to be over with players like Jaren Jackson Jr., Keion Brooks, Jaden Ivey, and others leaving their communities for prep school options.

This season, Thompson proved to be one of the toughest competitors in the state. His will pushed Merrillville to win the East Chicago Central sectional. Throughout the season, there were so many plays where it looked like Thompson had no chance of getting a rebound in traffic or scoring, but he was able to get it done behind his strength and relentlessness.
