David Bell converted a game-winning runner on a coast-to-coast play with the game on the line in the Class 4A southern semi-state, and the Warren Central junior headlines the honorees in this week’s IBCA/Subway Player of the Week program.
The game between Indiana’s top two high school teams all season came down to a couple of possessions. Warren Central’s David Bell had the last say in the outcome.
On a team that starts four seniors, it was the one junior in the first five that came up big, as Dallas Holmes led Southwood with 23 points and 9 rebounds as the Knights defeated Blackhawk Christian and earned a trip to the state finals.
Barr-Reeve and Morristown weren't expected to be playing in Seymour with a shot to go to the 1A state title game. But the teams found their way through a difficult field to make it to the final four.
